Ghost Rider 2 – Cage in talks with Columbia

Ghost Rider

In the latest example of “Dear GOD, Hollywood, WHY”, according to Variety, Columbia Pictures are in talks with Nic Cage about a sequel to 2007’s execrable Ghost Rider. Apparently Columbia are under pressure from Marvel to be in production by November or lose the franchise altogether. After their first attempt you’d think this would be a preferable option….

Still Columbia have approached Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank) to direct, which means the new pic should at least have some flair. Scott Gimple and Seth Hoffman have made the break from TV and written the script based on a David S Goyer story. Rumour has it the title will be Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance although Columbia have not confirmed this.

Safe to assume that once again Cage will be taking the money and running, Eva Mendes however, will not be returning.
