Superman reboot – Kneel before Zod!

Further to my post yesterday about Zack Syder being named as Superman director, just as I was going to bed, further news broke.

According to The Hollywood Reporter and /Film the David Goyer script has General Zod as the villain.

I’m in two minds about this, Zod makes a perfect parallel to Superman, both dealing with extraordinary powers on Earth, but one being the antithesis of the other. This could make for some perfect storytelling.

So my reservation is pretty much solely on the basis of who will they cast? Terence Stamp’s performance is so indelibly etched on my pop culture conciousness, I can’t imagine anyone else possibly capturing the role with the same aplomb.

Mr Moviegrrl made a suggestion of Zachary Quinto, which could work quite nicely, but who else kids? Who would you like to see as Zod.
